Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave away the Ramnath Goenka Excellence in Journalism Awards at a function in New Delhi on November 2, 2016. Instituted by the Ramnath Goenka Foundation in 2005 to celebrate the legacy of the founder of The Indian Express Group, the awards recognise excellence in journalism and showcase outstanding contributions by individuals each year.
